She holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction and has been recognized as Teacher of the Year.
03.

Curriculum Writer.

Alyssa has nearly 20 years of experience writing professionally and over 10 years of experience teaching. In her role as a classroom teacher, Alyssa often noted the dearth of materials and resources for teaching writing. Writing was assigned, writing was graded—but it was rarely taught. Alyssa spent a year reviewing books and curriculum on writing before coming to the conclusion that there weren’t any strong resources available!

To fill this gap, Alyssa spent two years creating writing lessons that teach writing skills. Her signature curriculum is split into three categories: Fundamentals of Writing, the Reading/Writing Connection, and Writer’s Techniques. These lessons can be modified for any level of writer.

Speaker.

Alyssa runs workshops for a variety of audiences looking to enhance their writing skill. These groups include (but are not limited to):

  • educators looking for best practices and innovative instructional methods to use in the classroom.
  • individuals looking to improve their personal writing skills.
  • businesses looking to energize/strengthen written communication.
  • students with a passion for writing.
